Homosexuality

Post by Shanu on Fri 11 Jan 2008 - 12:01

First topic message reminder :

Society does not have to accept or support homosexuality, but neither should it be condemned or punished, and violence against people based on their sexual orientation should not be tolerated.

The subject of homosexuality has often been surrounded by controversy. Much of the dispute centers on whether homosexuality should be treated as morally, socially, and legally equivalent to heterosexuality.

What are your views?

My opinion:

I dont approve of homosexuality (whether its male or female homosexuality).. and no, girl-girl action in porn movies is not an accurate portrayal of the lesbian lifestyle.

I do tolerate homosexuality as long as their freedoms dont impede on mine. I a society that does not like public displays of affection between straight people, homosexuals should not feel offended when they display their affection in public. There are things that belong in the bedroom. They need to stay there regardless of whatever sexual orientation someone is, if the society they live in says so.

Homosexuality is not illegal.Same-sex marriage is.

There are homosexuals who are not legally or religiously married. Being romantically involved with a person of the same sex is not against the law in Mauritius, unlike places like Uganda, Iran etc.
