This is my 2006 system.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9
Processor: AMD Athlon64 X2 Dual Core 4800+
Memory: 1.5 GB
Storage:
2x120GB SATA in software RAID1 (OS)
1x120GB ATA
1x1TB SATA (storage)
1x1TB SATA (backup)
1x500GB Portable disk (not shown in picture)
1X120GB ATA an old backup disk (under the koala pen holder)
Pioneer ATA DVD burner
Video: nVidia Geforce 7600GT
Sound: Sound Blaster SB Live! my firewall, a Netrhino V4 UTM Firewall.
Network: 2xGigabit ethernet

Miscellaneous stuff are a Logitech MX518 mouse, a Func Industries competition-grade mousepad (remnant of my Quake 3 Arena days) a Sennheiser HD445 headphone and a Logitech quickcam Fusion webcam

On the far right, a monitor connected to a windows box that does not boot up anymore (Too lazy to fix)
And the blue thing between the two monitors are is a Netrhino V4 UTM Firewall which isolates my home network from the Internet.

I would add more but this is a Linux box which is unpolluted by Windows. Any benchmark you folks expect are from Windows applications so it will not make much sense.

I'm too ashamed to post interior pictures because of the amazing amount of dust therein. As far as the noise is concerned, it was a noisy piece of shit after the pump on the liquid cooling system I had went bad. There was a continuous buzzing sound. I got rid of the liquid cooling system and opted for what seems to be an awesome cooling fan. It runs less noisy now.

Critic? Well, nobody is ever satisfied with the performance of their PCs. I am in that lot too.

Don't you use Windows at all?

Spare some time during the week-end, clean the interior of your computer and show us what you built in 2006. I'm sure your shame will disappear after that.

I would love to see that new cooler benchmarked.

You should leave that to us.

Also, I can see an older version of the Gigabyte 3D Aurora in the picture you posted. That's an awesome full tower case and I'm sure everybody would love to see that showcased in the way it should be.

Come on, simpleguy... Wink
