How To Review Your Computers

Post by Varun on Fri 17 Dec 2010 - 22:21

Please, showcase your computers using the following guidelines:

  • Give your computer a unique name and use it as the topic title.
  • Write a bit about your passion for computers and what you use your computer for as an introduction while posting one or two pictures of your computer system.
  • List your hardware and talk about the core components.
  • Explore the exterior and interior of your computer with pictures and words.
  • Benchmark your machine with synthetic, semi-synthetic and real-world applications.
  • Comment on the power, temperature and noise levels.
  • Conclude your review with some critics.

Now, it may happen that you would like to update your reviews for whatever reason. In that case, do it by editing your initial post, not by posting a reply. However, you may post a notice for your update as a reply to let others know about it.

In my opinion, only if you have a portable workstation/gaming laptop, then it'll be worthy to review it. Why don't you do it for your gaming PC instead? I have built it myself and it was quite a powerhouse at that time.

Common applications for benchmarking are PCMark, 3DMark, CINEBENCH, etc. To benchmark your game titles, you can use Fraps.
