Made in China

Post by Varun on Wed 28 Jan 2009 - 19:14

From shoes to toilet products and from toddler toys to home appliances, we always complain about those products coming from China because either they are not up to the desired quality or they are simply defective. However, this doesn't stop here and we are now having counterfeit medical products and even doctors with the Made in China label. What are your thoughts on this matter?

Hasn't the state banned all the products imported from China? Suspect

How can we ban things coming from China when the state itself is asking various helps from the Chinese government. One concrete example is the new MBC building and it's upcoming technologies.

I completely forgot that part. Embarassed

In that case, I suggest that the government bans only notorious things such as toys which are said to contain lead or tainted food stuffs not only for humans, but also for animals. However, to ban everything will be next to impossible for the fact that most of the products we, Mauritians, use come from China itself. For example, a made-in-china toaster or a mug can in no way prove to be harmful, isn't it? Therefore, in my opinion, the government should reassess only the dangerous and risky things which will, later on, be banned.

i agree with Kavi! but we should bear in mind that not all doctors who pursued their studies in China are "defective"

some very intelligent students may have pursued their studies in China because of it's low cost..

Yeah that's right Shanu.
I totally agree with you.

But the question is: how can one know if a doctor is good or not??

I mean the things told by the doctor to a patient, whether the treatment will work or not!

Well you surely have a point there, but not all treatment may work for a patient.
Since, you know there some doctors who are not in a field that is required for the patient to be healed and still those doctors just prescribe things that will only smoothen the illness of that patient.
Those doctors would not want that patient to go to a doctor who would cure the latter and thus they just tell the patient to take some pills which would only soothe the pain but not cure.

Anyone agree with what i said.

Someone may be intelligent but if he/she has been taught the wrong way or with the wrong techniques then what?

Also, every now and then we hear about Chinese manufactured products for the wrong reasons worldwide and now what if this happens to the Chinese pharmaceutical products?

Shanu wrote:well.. simply by finding out on his background.. his case history like we say.. the number of patients who were cured compared to the total number of patients whom the latter consulted lolzzzzzz!!
Do you think an ill person will get the time and courage to carry out such a survey?

We can always have a second check up by another doctor, can't we?

However, you people should bear one thing in mind; going to the doctor's cabinet doesn't always guarantee you a 100% cure as it will also depend on how you communicate with the doctor to know more about your illness and more importantly, if you're following the doctor's advices and prescriptions or not.

By the way, there are other things that are concerned by the Made in China label too, isn't it? Not only doctors or pharmaceutical products!

Post by Sneha on Sun 17 Jan 2010 - 17:59

In 2007, my dad bought a mobile (Nokia) and an MP3 player in China. Three months later, both of them refused to function. My brother tried to repair the mobile, but in vain. I even got scolded by my parents due to that as they thought that I didn't know how to use a mobile properly. Rolling Eyes

Many other Made in China electrical appliances stopped working after a while like that and couldn't be repaired by any professional which resulted in waste of money and time. That's why I abhor cheap stuff! Evil or Very Mad

How about you, people? Any bad experience? Neutral

Ok, simplified:
What i meant the statement you quoted Sneha, is that tough the china mobile has broken, i can still use my Nokia 6680 which is from finland, and it has been faithful to me.

Also when the china mobile was still operational, i had the tendency not to use my 6680, so am happy not forget about my first mobile. Clearer now??
