Blatter - A Game Killer

Post by Varun on Wed 12 Mar 2008 - 16:43

Being a great football fan, I've always been attentive to the game's administrative aspect too. Joseph "Sepp" Blatter is the current president of FIFA. Blatter has never been a professional footballer and has always been engaged in business administrative posts before coming to his present occupation.

I have never seen a good FIFA president in Blatter. He has always been involved with lots of controversial decisions and happenings.

Some of his most important yet absurd decisions are:
  • The silver and golden goals.
  • The current World Cup Champion does not automatically qualifies for the next World Cup.
  • National associations must now enforce immediate suspensions of all players sent off during a game even if television replays offer compelling evidence of a player's innocence.
  • Various rules purported to elevate the moral standards in the playing of the game were implemented including booking players who remove their shirts after scoring a goal starting in 2004, as well as those who are guilty of 'over-zealous celebrations'.
  • No football matches will be played above 2500 metres (the Bolivian national team has its stadium located more than 3000 metres above sea level).

Some of his most talked episodes are:
  • The handling of the death of Marc-Vivien Fo on the pitch during the 2003 Confederations Cup.
  • Allegations of various corruptions charges.
  • His absence during the prize-podium of the 2006 World Cup.
  • His comments about tighter shorts for women playing football.
  • His opinion on Martin Taylor's tackle on Eduardo.

Futhermore, after reading this aticle on ESPN Soccernet which talks about the future of the game with things like goal-line technology, I was shocked about his game-killer attitudes.

So far, I have only voiced out my personal opinions but I would like to hear from other football fans too.

From the facts that you have mentioned, i can clearly declare Blatter as a bastard!! He should be removed as FIFA President!

But please stop negative thinking on someone you dont even know.
Critics are like eunuchs in a harem. They're there every night, they see it done every night, they see how it should be done every night, but they can't do it themselves.

What I stated on Blatter are facts published everywhere. If we don't criticize what's need to be then we will be going back to primitive times. We need to criticize so that we can bring out the best of what we have as potential and move ahead with positivity and broad minds.

Finally Blatter, the one who hates teams of the premier league, awarded Fergie's team The FIFA World Cup Championship 2008. Very Happy

Peace on him LOL! Very Happy
